Hello dear ones,
The other day when I went to check the bees I heard a cute chirping around. Right then I knew that a baby bird was some where, so I started looking for it, and for my luck he was like five feet away from me, right in the grass. I could not resist that opportunity of taking it in my hand and take photos of that cutie. It's a baby Tree Swallow. And guess what? The last birds that my dear husband carved were a pair of Tree Swallows, so I brought the carved birds out and I took photos with the baby bird. I hope you enjoy this collection of photos as much I did taking them. ;)

Here is this cutie!
I always dream for wild birds to come to me like tame ones, and that dream became reality once in my life when I was single, but that is another story.
My husband creations Tree Swallows and the real baby.
Isn't he cute!
I brought him back to his nest, because he was not able to fly yet. His parents came to see him right away, and brought him food. He stared at me for the longest time.
American Gold Finch
These are my dear husband's latest creations. He's carving now a small owl for a dear friend.
Tree Swallows
"Look at the birds. They don't plant, harvest, or gather the harvest into barns. Yet, your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren't you worth more than they?

Wendy- What a story and what GREAT pictures. He is SOOOO cute-I am just in awe that you were able to handle him and set him by the carvings. I am glad you were able to restore him to his nest and that Mom & Dad swooped in to take care of him.
ReplyDeleteYour hubby's creations are phenomenal! He does GREAT work- xo Diana
Wendy,
ReplyDeleteThese bird pictures are precious. I couldn't tell at first which ones were real and which ones your husband made. You know, one of my favorite things to do is bird watching. Please let me know if you ever see a Hummingbird and take a picture of it for me. I really liked the ones where the bird was in the birdhouse. The flowers in the background make the pictures even more special. You are getting quite talented with your camera.
Have a beautiful day, and this quote is a favorite of mine.
Love,
~Sheri

Dearest Wendy,
ReplyDeleteWhat a precious series of photos. One gets this chance only once in a life time! Your dear husband's birds look amazingly close to reality. Such a fine wood carver and painter.
Enjoy your summer with all the natural residents residing in your vicinity. That look on this baby bird's face was precious!
Hugs,
Mariette
Wow, these photos are fantastic, Wendy. It's as if the little guy is posing for you! I love the photo with the birds your hubbie made. Too cute!
ReplyDeleteAwww, what a fun photo shoot you had Wendy! How precious! I can't believe the parent's allowed you to have their baby for so long and have so much fun with it! Gorgeous photos and your husband's birds are beautifully made.
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday to you,
Gina
That is darling. I am so glad the Mother continued to feed it as I was always told not to touch them as the Mother would smell you touch. Your bird house is so sweet and the photos darling!
ReplyDeleteWendy, this is such a sweet post - love the baby bird - such an attentive look! The carvings are marvelous - I am so delighted you shared with Home and Garden Thursday,

So glad I found your blog Wendy. Your husband's birds are stunning and look so real. How kind of you to take care of that little birdie. I also love my birds .... I started feeding the hummers and now it looks like a hummer convention. And boy do they let me know when their feeders are empty.
ReplyDeleteI am your newest follower - stop by and see my roses.
Have a wonderful week.
