Cute Little Bird

Hello everyone,

Happy Spring!

Spring will bring beautiful weather, and with beautiful weather comes flowers, yes . . . lots of flowers, and cute little birds too.

This cute white-throated sparrow was carved by my dear husband. This is his second bird, and I think his doing an excellent job.  You can see his first one here.

I wish I can show you how this bird started, but I don't have any photos of it. Sorry!

The feathers have been burned in this stage.

All done!   I love it!

I went crazy taking photos of this bird!
So . . . BEWARE of the white-throated sparrow!
(Zonotrichia albicollis)

White-throats often sing at night,
especially when the moon is full.

It's a delight to see our flowers blooming so beautifully!

I love fragrant flowers!
What about you?

When I was taken this photo, I found this

   lovely nest.  Which it's behind

this wreath,
that it's hanging on the door of our cottage.

My hubby also built this bird house, the sparrows and the blue birds are fighting for it. Blue birds are winning, they already have a nest started.

You go Mister Blue Bird!

The photos below shows the begining of the new carving my husband is working on.

My husband says that the bird is inside the block of wood.
He most go and find it.

Sketch is drawn to the wood.  And then band saw.

After some rough carving, the shape of the bird is clearly seen.
(To be continued . . .)

Have a Wonderful Spring!

Tornado - One day after

Hello Dear Friends,
It's been a week already since that terrible tornado hit our area. It was so scary to see all those houses gone in just a few seconds.  A few minutes before the tornado hit that area, my husband and I drove by that road, we were heading to the garden center to buy mulch.  We heard the police sirens, and they where driving to our neighborhood direction.  Our daughter was at home alone.  A few minutes before the police went by she called, and told us that she was hearing some noises and that the cats where afraid.
So we hurried home, and this is what we saw in our way  . . .

My heart SANK and I started to CRY and PANIC . . . I tried to call my daughter's phone, but there was not communication, it was the  most horrifying day of our life.
Finally, we where able to pass that area., and the rest of the neighborhood was fine. THANK GOD for HIS MERCY and PROTECTION.  Our precious daughter was saved at home, and nobody died in that area where the tornado hit.  I'm going to let the photos do the talk.

These photos were taken the next day.  Here you can see they are cleaning and burning all the wood.

May our Lord's comfort be with all those that lost their loved ones in one of these disasters.

Have a blessed day!
XO

Signs of Spring

Hello darlings,
I have spent my last two weeks working in the garden.   I did all the edging, which it took me three days, I thought it will never end.  The mulch has been spread , and there's signs of spring everywhere!  Our daffodils and tulips are in all its glamour.  A sweet sigh indeed!

The perennials are beginning to pop up . . .

It's a joy having a family of Bluebird
flying around our backyard.

Our neighborhood in all its glory!

I bought some pretty Violas to plant around
the mailbox post.

A cute bunny is always welcome here.

What are you planning to plant this coming season?

Have a lovely day!
