A New Path

Hello Darlings,

Our cottage/shed has its front path done.  It was a labor of love and hard work, but being able to see everything falling in its place, has been very rewarding.  I can't wait to see the plants mature and cover the bed.  Here are the project's photos...Enjoy!

                                         (Click photos to enlarge)
In the beginning...

Taking a little break!

A long way to go...

Believe it or not, I (Wendy, not hubby) cut and removed all the dirt
from this path: 30'L X 4" W X 4" D
It's ready for gravel!
Hooray!!!

Gravel coming right up...

...and right down!

The planting has begun, and the summer heat
does not stop.

Right side almost done

It was very pleasant to see butterflies
and hummingbirds coming to the garden
as we were still planting.

It was also a delight to see a double
rainbow while we were working.

This is a little lady mouse called Miguelina.
She's our new addition to the path.

And here it is...
Miguelina's Cottage Garden

Have a wonderful week!

Lots of Love,

I am joining ...

  1. WOW! That is beautiful, Wendy! You and your hubby worked hard to make your dream a reality!

I've been blessed with a husband like that as well! I have to pinch myself sometimes just to make sure I'm not still dreaming:)

  4. Hello,
I saw you on Art @ Home. I just love your side bar, and the pink rose at the top is beautiful. I love roses, especially red. I like old world decor, but I am a bit of a Victorian at heart, like you. Me and my daughters just started a new blog, and we would love it if you could visit us and follow. I would enjoy coming back to visit with you and seeing all your creative ideas. Hope to hear from you, and have a sweet day.

  5. Dearest Wendy,

Wow, hats off to the both of you! That was hard work, considering the time of year and the amount of grass you had to scoop off for doing what you planned to do. Miquelina has it easy... and claiming her garden seems not fair!
Enjoy it; it looks almost like a fairytale.

    Lots of love,

    Mariette

  11. Love the shed! We have a one year old granddaughter who I am planning to make a garden house for the children and me to play in. I have a couple of years to get it done and I'm sure to have more grandchildren by then. What a lucky lady.

Love the path- here, we would call it a "country garden" path and plant it with billowing English cottage garden flowers either side
