I hope you are having a great summer! Stay cool!!!
I want to share with you two very special teacups.
The first one belonged to my precious mother,
and the second to my beloved grandmother.
It is an honor to have inherited those teacups.

Beloved mother, we love you!
Mother's Love
Her love is like an island
In life's ocean, vast and wide,
A peaceful, quiet shelter
From the wind, and rain, and tide.
'Tis bound on the north by Hope,
By Patience on the west,
By tender Counsel on the south,
And on the east by Rest.
Above it like a beacon light
Shine faith, and truth, and prayer;
And through the changing scenes of life,
I find a haven there.

Hi Wendy,
ReplyDeleteWhat special teacups and memories of your mother and grandmother. Thank you for sharing their teacups with us.
Both teacups are incredibly beautiful. And that "mother" poem is lovely and very touching.
ReplyDeleteMy mom was/is not a collector of teacups...too feminine for her tastes. However, both my grandmothers had a small collection, and 3 of them (1 from 1 grandma, 2 from another) have now made their way to me...including the beloved Old Country Roses. I was very close to both grandmothers, so I love having teacups that remind me of them.
Happy Tea Tuesday to you,
Patti (Fill My Cup with Beauty)
Wendy, what a sweet post. I hope these precious cups have a special place in your home for all to see and admire! :D
