~~ Sweet Signs of Spring ~~

Hello dear ones,

Our days are turning so gorgeous lately.  Everything has started to grow and bloom so beautifully.  The birds are back . . . Tree Swallows, Barn Swallows and Hummingbirds. The Robins are living us now, we just have a few left, pretty soon they will be up north.  Here are photos of our sweet spring.  Enjoy!

"Can words describe the fragrance of the very breath of spring?"
~ Neltje Blanchan

"The robin flew from his swinging spray of ivy on to the top of the wall and he opened his beak and sang a loud, lovely trill, merely to show off.  Nothing in the world is quite as adorably lovely as a robin when he shows off - and they are nearly always doing it."
~ Frances Hodgson, The Secret Garden

Our Camellia bush has two colors.

I love bunnies!

"April has put a spirit of youth in everything."
~ William Shakespeare

"I glanced out the window at the signs of spring.  The sky was almost blue, the trees were almost budding, the sun was almost bright."
~ Millard Kaufman

"She turned to the sunlight
And shook her yellow head,
And whispered to her neighbor:
"Winter is dead."
~ A.A. Milne

Our newest flower bed.  We are going to be very busy planting seeds this coming week.  And my dear husband has a new addition to the back yard, which our kids and myself are not to crazy about it.  Can you guess what is it?

Our front door wreath has guest living in.  I love the way they built their little nest.  I love birds and everything related to it.  I'm so glad that my husband is a bird carver.  His latest creations are two Tree Swallows.  Here is a photo of them.  So cute!

Ok, now back to the wreath and its guests.  I think they did such a marvelous job building that little nest.  Don't you think?

Last year some birds also built a nest behind one of our wreath, you can see it Here.

Here's a closed up to this year nest . . . and look at those lovely blue eggs!

I think it belong to this kind of bird.

So beautiful and perfectly made!
They use lot of greens to make it.
Love it!

May your nest be filled with His abundant blessings this Spring season and always!
With Love,

  5. Hi Wendy,
Beautiful photos of Spring. Love the bird nest in your wreath with those sweet eggs, they look like robin eggs. The bird with the red breast looks like the male purple finch, even though he's not purple. Thanks for sharing such beauty!

  7. Oh now that is cool that they've built a nest in your wreath...at least from a purely esthetic viewpoint. I've seen a lot of fake nests in wreaths. This is the first real one. A bee hive? I'd love to have the harvest because we're big fans of local honey. I might not be excited about the work and it being in the yard. Hope that you'll keep talking about it.

  8. Wendy, it is always a thrill to see the first robin of Spring. The robin is Michigan's state bird. With all the rain recently, the green is returning to our lawns but we will have a bit longer wait for our glorious flowers. Thanks for sharing your lovely photos.
