To my way of thinking,
there is not a more perfect day
for tea with a friend
than when it is cold
and rainy on the outside
and there is a hot, blazing
fire on the inside.

Blest be that spot, where
cheerful guests retire
To pause from toil, and trim
their evening fire.
~ Oliver Goldsmith

Our curious Sir Rupert love to watch the candles burn.

Surely everyone is aware of the divine
pleasures which attend a wintry fireside; candles
at four o'clock, warm hearthrugs, tea, a fair
tea~maker, shutter closed, curtains flowing in
ample draperies to the floor, whilst the wind
and rain are raging audibly without.
~ Thomas De Quincey

Seasons at Gardenside Rose Cottage

Hello dear ones,

This post is about our little cottage/shed in different seasons.  I thought it's interesting how things change from season to season.

 Enjoy!

As Summer, Autumn, Winter and the Spring."

~ Winter ~

Winter is the time of promise because there is so little to do - or because you can now and then permit yourself the luxury of thinking so.
