Keep Calm and Fight On

Hello dear ones,

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Many of us know coworkers, friends and family who have battled against breast cancer.  I want to thank God for my mother.  At the beginning of this year, my mother had two surgeries.  The doctor removed a small lump, and the result came to be Ductal Carcinoma in situ (DCIS), so the doctor have to operated again.  The second time that the doctor operated my mother, he removed some more tissue to make sure everything was clear and free of cancer.  The doctor sent those tissue to be test and it came out free of malignancy.  Praise be the Lord for His Grace and Mercy!

Now I want to share with you  a virtual tea.  And some treasures that I found at our local thrift store.

Here is one of  the treasures.  It's a beautiful Jelly Jar.  Lefton China, Hand Painted "Heritage Green". I LOVE it!!!  And I also love the price . . .  $5.00.

I have this pitcher and bowl that I think is part of  "Heritage Green" collection, but has not marking.

More lovely treasures . . .  I bought two cups for thirty cents each, and a pfaltzgraff Heritage creamer for fifty cents.

This apron is my very first apron sewed by me.  My dearest mother sews, but I never practice sewing while living with her though I did watch her all the time.  Now I can bring back those precious memories and put it into practice.  Thank you my beloved mother for all your teaching and for all the sacrifices that you have done for me and for your family.  We love you very, very much.

Here is a close-up of this beautiful fabric.  I saw it and I fell in love with it, so I bought it without knowing what to make with it.  Until I saw a pretty apron that my daughter bought, then I knew that was the project to use the fabric on it.

Curious kitty

Hello dear ones,

Our Sir Rupert is a big explorer and a curious kitty.   I placed some leaves under a pumpkin and the next day I found one some place else, he took it and started playing with it.

I placed an acorn on top of the pumpkin to be able to take this picture.

Here he's exploring his new find.

We never played rough with Sir Rupert, so he has a docile and affectionate nature. We taught him to kiss, so every time we are laying down he comes and greets us with a nose to nose kiss.  We love him to pieces.  He also acts like a ragdoll cat, he flops and roll whenever we try to move him out of our way.

So darling!

After all the exploration it's time to relax.

This photo was taken last year.
He's so cute! We love him so very much.
He's ready to give me a kiss.

Here he's trying to get the daylily through the glass door, curious kitty. :)

Some more exploring!

This beautiful daylily plant was a gift to us when we attended one of their Daylilies Festivals.  Each visitor received one daylily plant, I think that is so sweet and generous of them to do that.  Don't you think?

Wishing you a marvelous and blessed day!
With lots of love,
